HAPPY FACE (FRANCE)

A lot of the comments so far when throwing the name around are 'holy shit are HAPPY FACE still going?' Such comments, far from being negative, are a brilliant testament to the band; even though their UK tours are seperated by a number of years and their history has been punctuated with a number of problems (record companies/line up) that damaged their ability to release new material, their live performances are remembered so vividly.

A lot of it has to do with the energy the band displays...the band’s own true musical nature began to erupt with their own brand of groovy, brutal death metal. Not content with being just another generic death metal band, Happyface twist the ingredients and grind them out with originality and flare. Add a bit of hardcore into the mix resulting in a crazy and energetic sound that is sure to translate onto the stage.

Due to my sheer love for this description, I have shamelessly ripped it off: "oh my Christ...what the fuck...aggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh... their lead did accurately convey what it must feel like to have a hot poker shoved up your bumbum for all eternity. How the hell these people make that noise for so long without ripping their throat to shreds and vomiting up a lung I’ll never know...but it’s impressive. Musically Kafka had it nailed too, especially one or two sections that sounded...in no particular order...like fireworks going off in a metal bin and anti tank missiles exploding against the Houses of Parliament, surprisingly melodic in a liquidising your brain kind of way"
