Caerphilly Castle which is over the hill from me. Was built within three years from scratch its the largest castle in wales and second biggest in britain. Winsor castle which is more of a palace is the biggest im not knocking winsor castle.
Also its one of the biggest fortresses ugly( If not the ugliest) and brutal history in europe.
In america the only castle they to date have ever constructed is (wait for it ) The Cinderella Castle in disneyland!  Where they sell disney merch
It took exactly half the time to build Compaired to a british castle 800years ago.
I imagine in america when they want to take grim black metal pictures they must get pissed off paying for disney.

This thread is awesome, I can't believe I forgot about this. Do you know where the word Mistletoe comes from? Well basically in modern German the word mist means 'animal excremant'. Which derives from an older germanic word misteltan when roughly translated means 'a twig which cause animals to excrete'. Romantic  I heard this on QI last night - The Boobey people of equatorial guinea can't speak to each other at night because their language is mostly composed of gestures. So they can't understand each in other in the dark
