I'd pick apocalyptic folk because recently i've been listening to Current 93, Death In June, Tenhi and In Gowan Ring. However my favorite genre of all time is a toss up between Drum n' Bass and Hip-Hop.

Doom. As mentioned above about Black Metal, Doom has enormous scope, I'd perhaps say more than BM. Though I'd say there's a lot of scope in all extreme genres. Thrash and Power metal are very high up the list, as is Death Metal. I find a lot of Black Metal bands silly and boring (Gorgoroth, Dark Funeral...), though when bands get it right BM rules. Most prog that is actually progressive is great 
Funk, soul, and jazz are also teh pr0n.
