I have an Ibanez S-540 Saber Custom with a dark red finish! So beautiful it is but sounds like a demon

Ibanez SR305DX - main bass, gotta have the low B
& a couple of backup basses:
Tanglewood Warrior (bargain!)
Yamaha RBX260 - my very first bass *goes sentimentally teary-eyed*
Probably gonna get another 5-string soundgear in the very near future, maybe a GSR205. May av 2 part-ex a few old fx units to get it for next 2 nowt!

I have the old Iceman, i forget the model name possibly the IC400. To be honest its the worst guitar that I own. At the time I bought it, I could hardly play at all, and thus it just seemed great.
It is uber neck heavy, which is a real bitch, 'cause its quite chunky. You've really got to compensate when you're fretting to balance the neck with your hand. The pickups in my model are also quite shit, especially compared to the Paul Gilbert signature. I 'played' them both tonight, and the PGM utterly slays it. Im not sure what the pups are exactly, they're labelled AH1.
It cost me £300 brand new, and it is a cheaply made guitar. The neck is quite D shaped, whereas I prefer the slim Jem/PGM necks. The finishing on my particular Iceman isnt great, and when I consider that I got the PGM for £400 brand new in a sale, its a no brainer.
That said, it does look very cool, and there is a newer model available. I dont know what the stock pickups are like, but you may want to remove 'em anyway (especially if you're used to EMGs). If they've sorted the neck weight issue, it may be that the guitar is not so bad. I've tuned mine to drop B, and thats the only reason it gets played at all now (mainly because I fear restringing my locking trem guitars).
Im planning on selling the Iceman (might have to revise my sales pitch huh?) and then trying to blag my Dad's GnL ASAT off of him. The pickups are awesome.
