I was going to get a Ran, but my mate who is learning his trade begged me to let him build me one instead.

someone in the UK sold a couple of Ran axes on eBay earlier this year. i recall one was a custom they'd had done. maybe they both were, can't quite remember now. so u missed a bargain there cos they were going quite reasonably

prolly the same bloke still trying to shift 'em 
then again, the whole point of a custom guitar is that its made to your spec, so buying someone elses sort of defeats the point a bit
