im a massive jazz and jazz fusion fan however my interest and my playing is going more classical espically espanic (sorry my spelling is shite) playing. Im really looking for playings with speed with asending adn desending scales, good legatoes and good south american/ european or classical feel.
as im currently leanring "medditerranean sundance" by al di meola im really gettin into that style of playing. Ive got some paco de lucia cds but I really want to explore a bit further. I have a friend at my uni who is cuban and shes bringing me some salsa and some jazz. In the mean time im just lisntening obsessivly to the first two sanata albums

Hey chops, I'd say check out Antonio Carlos Jobim, he's a prominent Brazilian jazz/classical musician.
Paco Pena would be another good call.
