finished it now, what a quality book. I borrowed it from a friend who (in a few months) is going to join the circus. I feel inspired to be Idle !

Phaidon's Art & Idea series - Concept Art So far its a very good book, this genre of art tends to attract lots of dry and quite frankly difficult reading. Luckily this book is lot clearer and accessible than most. Big and beautiful book full of young illustrators, painters, gothic and lowbrow artists, etc like Miss Van, Vania, Ceasar Ray, etc. A book that focuses on the profane and controversial elements found in art like death, sex, the conflict between good and evil, blasphemy, etc. Full of eye popping color images from the likes of Paul McCarthy and Marina Abramovic. Bought this at the IKON art gallery after seeing a Victor Alimpiev exhibition for the second time. Quite good a read, but its got nothing the above 3 books. I also bought a book on sci-fi art recently but I was unable to find a picture of it on the old 'tinternet.

'Globalization of Capital, Nation-States and Democracy' - Joachim Hirsch
I know its not a book but its still reading and its crap. At least next week I have Hayek to inject some must needed capitalist sense on the subject of globalisation.

Matter by Iain M Banks. 3rd book of his i'm reading now (Wasp Factory and Whit being the others) and i'm struggling to see what all the hype is about him as an author. Strikes me as an author who feels the need to over elaborate and still fails to get across his point.

Me: There's a fucking bomb in the...basement? In that big fucking hole! Robot Twat: Oh really sir? A bomb, sir? Fascinating. Me: TELL ME HOW TO DISARM IT. Robot Twat: I'm afraid I wouldn't know a thing about disarmament, sir. Me: GO FUCK ROBOT SATAN IN ROBOT HELL YOU ROBOT FAGGOT.
Me: How do I fucking disarm you? John Cleese Bomb: Oh look what you did, you made me lose count! Me: Well fucking good, now how do I kill you? John Cleese: Stop it, you're putting me off! Me: Douglass Adams, you're a fucking c**t!
Of course the bomb repeatedly tells you the password to shut it off. Nobodylikesasmartass

Armando Ianuci-The Audacity Of Hype.
The dude's still brilliant. Praise be Armando. He had me laughing out loud on the tube home from seeing Absu tonight. Wicked.
