Okay, look enough of this shit! The Division, your arguments are becoming circular. And the more [it] does the more all you are showing us is that the thoughts behind your rationale, preclude anyone with an ounce of common sense, that you are merely trying to argue about your taste in music and somehow tie it to what is happening politcally now and not when it was current.
Sure, somethings don't change and trying to change them has always been the struggle of the generations to follow and be angry about.
But you don't seem to grasp something. When it comes to music people in extreme metal by and large don't care about the world or mainstream.
Our choice of lifestyle and culture is primarily about music and the advancement of music through composition.
That is not to pre-dispose that extreme metal fans do not care about the world around them nor do not care about what is happening. Metal is a calling; a life choice. One does not simply casually listen to metal even more so extreme metal. It is something that cannot be quantified nor seeks to fit in or court soundbytes to fit in with the trends.
Extreme metal is by its nature a deep seated reaction against everything that is mainstream in a way that unlike some aspects of punk, in that it doesn't wear its convictions on its sleeve to sell a few fucking records by making its values a trademark handy slogan.
I mean when you talked of looking to Black Metal to find this thing it is you seek this anger or spark of political unrest to change the world, you couldn't be more wrong. Boy have you ever got Black metal wrong the avulsion in Black Metal is not a political thing.
You talked about buying extreme music titles but you only mention Darkthrone but which Darkthrone? It just makes you look like your casually dropping a name that anyone could know with minimal research. It is perfectly fine to have a dissatisfaction with any form of music, but don't dis it bcause somehow you feel let down because it doesn't somehow live up to your lofty ideals about what should and should not be.
[/i]Again[/i] I say to you what extreme metal bands have you been listening to -give examples something for readers of this forum can get their collective teeth into. Give reasons about the music.
And do me and everyone else a favour? Leave your fucking high minded politcal pipe dreams about what music should and shouldn't be at the fucking door-where they belong.
Or maybe its as everyone esle says: wrong place wrong forum. There is nothing wrong with caring about the world around you but this is and will always be about extreme music and the politic contained therein not party politics for those revelling in soft downy romanticisim of nearly three decades ago.
If you wanna be active in politics find some other outlet-the world is crying out for people who care but as the y discovered in the Age of Aquarius people power while effective doesn't last.
More importantly you tell me why should extreme metal as a collective force and a creative force and culture in its own right which lives within many different societies around the world, care about what this society thinks when this society is the one who marginalised it in the first place?[/i]
