So who are your favourite poets?
When I'm asked, I usually say Tennyson or Bukowski, depends on the mood I'm in.

You'd think i'd be all over poetry like the sweat rash all over my sagging and sore scrotum. But, amazingly, i've never been to find much interest in it. I'll fully admit i'm a total churl in regards to poetry.

Lord Gordon Byron. Kiddy-fiddling a 13 year old Greek boy, having sex with his nanny AND his sister (allegedly)(not both at the same time) and divorcing his wife and then insulting her in a national newspaper aside, Childe Harold's Pilgrimage Canto III is an absolute corker of a piece of poetry. I cannot think of any other poets who have been able to create imagery as vivid as that.

Only Poe or Blake, everything else is rubbish! But only Blake's short ones haha!

Would be good to hear some recommendations for Poe... I've not really read that much either.

John Donne is a favourite of mine. Also Blake, Milton, Shelley and Tennyson, and I love everything Thomas Hardy has ever written down. They Flee From Me... by Thomas Wyatt is my favourite poem.
