in killing someone you're not punishing them. they have no opportunity to reflect on anything, because they're dead... you might even be putting them out of their own misery. if anything it's the relatives of the "murderer" who are being punished when a death sentence is used. and that obviously can't be right. indeed society itself (as much as I hate the term) is being punished, as they are being perpetually imprisoned in a "moral world order" that encourages such a thing.
i don't agree with it at all, on any level, but I also don't have a solution to it myself, being frank.

Alternatively we could keep them alive and harvest their organs and blood as and when need be. Or is it a bit wrong to think that a terminally ill could be saved by an imprisioned sex offender. Would you even accept a donor if you knew where it came from if it could save the life of a loved one? Something to get your noodle round. On the other hand, how much tax payers money go to keep these people safe from other inmates and themselves? We hate paying taxes but do we hate it enough to justify killing people to save ourselves a few pennies
