I find an unhealthy amount of joy in terrible acting. Although many examples of godlessly hilarious acting 'talent' can be found in films there is also television to consider, via the likes of made-for-TV drama and soaps/sitcoms/etc. I'd like to know who you consider some of the very worst actors and actresses out there in showbiz.

I nominate Jimmi Harkishin - aka Dev Alahan in Coronation Street.



He is an amazingly bad actor. Infact his particular style of overcompensated and yet strangely limited acting methodology is nothing short of admirable. He has three tones of voice that indicate wether he A) annoyed ("naaaaawww!"), B) aroused ("yeeeaaaaa!") or C) shouting without provocation ("gggggggggg!"). He has no other ranges and those 3 mannerisms never cross over or artistically meld into one another. He could literally say any old bollocks and it wouldn't affect the story or interrupt your sense of the plot, you just get the jist of how he feels from his gnarled facial expressions (which i've yet to see on another humans face) and by how LOUD HE IS SPEAKING.

Naturally I think he is brilliant and easily the best character on any ITV program, let alone Corrie

Nicholas Cage. I do not feel I need to go into the reasons why, that should be obvious to all.

Yes to both! Can I add Owen Wilson...mainly just because I want to punch him in the face and he plays the same role in EVERY film I have had the misfortune to see him in!

Nicholas Cage is worse than Stephen Hawkings would be if he was an actor.

Ben Stiller. Hate him.

The best part of that guy who plays Dev, thanks to TV Burp, is that whenever I see him my brain automatically switches to a loop of him doing that "bwrrp" noise all the time and just completely bypasses his acting.


To be fair Sean Bean's undeniably shit at acting and yet you wouldn't have him any other way to be honest. Or at least I wouldn't.



Off the top of my head, I really cannot stand anything about Shia Leboeuf. Every time he so much as graces the screen I'm physically repulsed by his very presence.
That and he can't fucking act to save his life, doing the exact same LOUD EXCITED TEENAGER routine ad infinitum.

I'm prepared to be flamed for this but Mel Gibson's ever since he stopped making Mad Max films quickly became one of the worst Hollywood actors ever IMO.

Keanu fucking Reeves, for that matter, anyone who's ever been in any of the Matrix films except the French guy, he was fucking awesome.
