How do!!! I've had a few enquiries from foreigners asking for travel and accommodation information for Gekfest so here you go... Flying to Manchester International Airport is clearly your best option although it may not be the cheapest, there are buses and trains direct from the airport to take you to the City Centre. Other airports which are within 40 miles of Manchester are Liverpool and Leeds / Bradford. For accommodation you should check out this website and enter England then Manchester on the dates you want and it will search for all options in the area, City Centre accommodation is best as it is closer to the venue but again may not be the cheapest... http://www.hostelworld.comFor directions to the venue use... http://www.multimap.comEnter United Kingdom then the postcode of the venue which is M1 6DD. Clanglestrim Pro-Duck-Shins regret to announce that the headliners of Gekfest 2008, Negura Bunget from Romania, have been issued with a ban from playing at the Manchester venue, Satan’s Hollow, despite official appeals from myself, the band, their record labels and various other sources of support. For more information please read this... Here is the official statement about the Manchester show from the band themselves... “We are sorry to announce that there will be no Negura Bunget performance at Gekfest 2008. It seems there were some problems with the local authorities which made our performance impossible. We understand this situation is beyond our control as a band and beyond the control of the local organizers. We are sorry for all the people that planned to come there to see us, we’ll do our best to come there another time. Meanwhile, the other UK dates on our tour will go ahead as scheduled so we hope to see at least some of you there! Stay Black! Negura Bunget” So as Gekfest is now just 2 days away I’ve been forced to pull a master stroke out of nowhere to try to compensate this huge loss to my first fest. The best I can do at such short notice is the following 3 bands will replace Negura Bunget to make it a 12 band bill... Kastrated (Eng) (Brutal Death Metal) Funeral Throne (Eng) (Black Metal) Dyscarnate (Eng) (Death Metal) The revised flyer and fest schedule is now on... Mp3’s of these replacement bands can be found on the above link and here... I sincerely apologise to all the fans of Negura Bunget who may have been travelling to see them here and I wouldn’t hold it against anyone if they decided to go to one of their other UK shows to see them instead as it seems no other UK date has been affected by this situation, or at least not yet anyway. Although I would urge any real fan of the Underground Extreme Metal scene to come and support the rest of the bands on the fest in total defiance to an over the top, politically correct, hypocritical nation that allows 'proven' dangerous and offensive Gangster rappers and Hip-Hop stars to play here every year with no questions asked as their multi-million-dollar tours generate massive financial gain but our harmless Underground Metal scene is deemed far more worthy of authoritarian attention and subsequent action because there is no money to be made from it to render any special treatment. It personally devastates me as a promoter and as a fan of the band that Manchester is the only show on NB’s 40 date Euro Tour that actually leaves them with no performance at all. I’m also embarrassed as a UK citizen and as a music fan in general that it’s been taken this seriously by the local authorities. There is no actual proof that links NB to any of the allegations made against them, this is all just based on hearsay. I didn’t think this sort of thing could happen again after the Devourment fiasco we had here last year. This is not Al Qaeda...it’s Extreme Music! It's such a shame about this, I don't know why this rumour about them started. I know you tried everything possible to get them to play  Silly really as Negura Bunget have played Manchester once before without any fuss!
