I just picked up Forefather's acclaimed "Ours is the Kingdom" and enjoyed it so much that its practically branded into my discman. The only thing is... they sound nothing like half the reviews I've read suggest.
One review called them "Folkloric, Anglo-Saxon, Pagan Black Metal" or some similar fucking mouthful. Yeah, its folkloric and its *about* Anglo Saxons, but why do these Metal Encyclopedia pricks have to create entirely new genres for every cd they buy?!
If I was to get really pedantic, (like now) I'd say that only about 3 songs on Ours is the Kingdom are really in the style of Black Metal and the ones that are have mostly clean vocals. This is just straight up fucking *metal*. Simple as that. What do the rest of you who've heard it think?
Anyways... That's the end of my rant. Buy this album.
DOO EET NOW!
