Whilst I have never been attacked or anything for looking 'different' (read: long-hair) I have signed it anyway as the murder conviction that dominated the news yesterday was abhorrent and symptomatic of a huge number of teenagers/young adults who have absolutely no social grounding and are a complete and utter drain on society. Im pessimistic about the worthiness of an online petition like this one but we can only hope.

Petition is silly with a nice idea
The 'alternative/goth community' suddenly start to petition because some of thier 'own kind' have been mistreated.
People getting killed for the way they look/life style they lead for years but because the tabloids exploited a few cases suddenly it becomes an issue for the alternative community.
This alternative community is just as bad as the chav community or any other community.
Not to mention picking on someone for who they are or lifestyle they lead would probably fall under the harrassment/assault laws and if they get killed i don't think it will become an issue as to whether or not they looked a bit morbid.

For many years i was always abused and insulted for what i used to dress like i was always that "long haired smelly goffic" As i had grown up i developed confidence to defend myself. (and in some cases i have not been able to defend myself)


I imagine that almost everybody on this forum to a degree dresses in an "alternative" or perhaps mistaken as a "gothic"fashion. So we should all know what its like. Put it this way i would not want to get beaten up and then it been seen as a hate crime because its just to politically correct to call it a hatecrime.
However most "goths" dress the way they do for attention. The negative stereotyping attention they receive straight away. I am not saying it is right but its the way it is.
Everyone should have the right to dress in what they want but they have to be prepared.

I am not going to sign it because i believe its just to politically correct for my liking. Hate crime should cover all people instead of "mainly"Religion, Race, Sexuality,which in todays pc society consider a hatecrime.

Not to forget to mention sub culture and in some cases football teams.
