i usually turn up to gigs or "rock" clubs/pubs in my normal get-up (trousers and a shirt). ironically i usually stand out more than the sea of uncreative gothy twats. i wonder what is more "metal", wearing a load of shit that makes you look like you've died and risen that was fashionable 10 years ago or just wearing what you normally do. unless these people actually go about their daily lives looking like this?! i never understood the appeal of all that bullshit. the furthest i went when i was a kid was a biker chain and some spiky hair, and even that was a fucking pain to maintain.

i went past a venue on the train the other week with my dad, outside were a shitload of these goth types all looking identical. my dad wonderfully said "what's so extreme and rebellious about that bunch? they all look the same, like utter tits". too right.
