You're easily pleased? I've already nabbed a half-moon (semi-circular display thing you see in HMV) with really gawdy flashing blue LEDS in it cause it's advertising Avatar; the top half of a promo board advertising the pre-order package with a large image of Neytiri on it; two posters from the film and an 'Avatar Program' messenger bag off of ebay and some letterbox shape hoarding things advertising it.
I really need to get a fucking life/woman/proper job haha Watched it for the third time this week a couple of hours ago and I think I might be overdosing on it a bit much so I'm going to turn it down a notch.
You could also add to this thread that after seeing Negura Bunget live on Tuesday if it were to be happen again would be something that'd make me rather splendidly happy.

Thing with Avatar, take away the CGI its pretty much a below par film but its visuals are great for escapism. Film really takes you away from the real world around you.

I wouldn't say it's below par - especially as it'd depend on what particular other film you would determine to be that par - yet at the same time wouldn't say it's quite worthy of the phenomenal amount of hype it's had for the film itself. The way in which the film was made however if you research it, deserves every last ounce of praise, especially just how many copies of the film were made for the cinema release so it'd be 100% customisable to the specifics of each individual cinema.
Plus as easy as it is to say "strip away the CGI...", that's kind of the whole point of the film, the total complete yet utterly believable immersion in an environment which is simultaneously alien yet familiar. Strip away the CGI and it's like taking the robots out of the Terminator films or film noir stylings Quentin Tarantino adds to just about all his films.
But hey, just as with anything conjectural, there's no point in arguing the toss about it. You either like it or you don't. Simple really.

Kind of my point, the CGI makes the film what it is, a surreal world that looks great and drags you into it, the plot is below par, its Pochahontas (sp). Was never questioning the amount of work and effort into making it a great piece of visual wankery. I'm a fan of the film so not bad mouthing it.

I wish they would do a Fern Gully in space. I'd pay to see a computer generated Hexxus.

I'm not sure what's made me happy but I am very much so List of possible causes: the sunshine, the can of cider in my hand, the large stash of booze waiting for consumption this weekend, the fact that my girlish desires about ponies have come true (albeit for a short time), cooking that required 5 minutes of my time and still tasted good , I got to play with a lot of machinery today or a combination of them all. *contented sigh*
